How to avoid iOS error 53 Code
This is a guide for those who have NOT got the error 53 code and are wanting to avoid this. Please note it is only a preventative measure. I have used this method multiple times without any issue.
Instructions are as follows:
1. From the Home screen go to - Settings
2. Scrolls down to Touch ID / Password
3. Enter your PIN
4. Disable iPhone unlock & apple pay
5. Delete the old fingerprint
Now you can safely update or restore your iPad or iPhone even if you have a damaged touch sensor.
Further information - Why does this occur:
This is involved with your logic board and touch id, or known as the finger print scanner/sensor. Now as a security measure Apple paired the touch id and logic board together as a security measure.
When this link is broken or they pairing is not identified, the phone will lock itself as there has been a firmware breach. Now there are articles all over the net on why this occurs and how it happens, it can occur post damage, once under repair, and simply which is the most common situation, the button can be faulty. Generally if your finger print scanner does not work - avoid attempting to do a restore.
