In August 2025, the world watched to see whether a person could be rescued from an altitude of 7,200 meters. Experienced mountaineer Natalia Nagovitsyna suffered a broken leg while descending from Victory Peak (Jengish Chokusu) — the highest mountain in the Tien Shan range and the northernmost seven-thousander on Earth.

Over the course of less than a month, a dramatic story unfolded around her tent: people died, a helicopter crashed, and rescue teams were forced to retreat one after another before a mountain that has refused to give up its dead since 1955.

This documentary chronicles those events: who Natalia Nagovitsyna was, how she returned to the mountains after her husband's death on Khan Tengri, what happened during the fatal descent on August 12, why she could not be evacuated by a two-person rescue team, how Italian climber Luca Sinigaglia, who climbed up to reach her, lost his life, and how the most widely discussed mountain rescue operation of recent years ultimately ended.

The film is based on reports from Russian and international media, specialized mountaineering resources, testimonies from participants in the rescue operation, and the only interview Natalia gave while she was still alive.
