AriseXchange Network discusses Facebook's purchase of WhatsApp. Ari a huge technology enthusiast, explains that Facebook's decision to buy WhatsApp was a poor business decision. Currently WhatsApp's only revenue is from their users who pay $1 per year after their first year. While the price is low, users can likely lose interest if their social platform costs them even a cent. Ari explains that the likely reason Facebook bought WhatsApp is because they are losing users by the day, and are desperate for a growing fan base- something that WhatsApp has with their 450 million users. Ari explains that this is still a bold decision on Facebook's part to buy WhatsApp as they are a minor competition to Facebook. Ari thinks Facebook is going to go hard on acquisitions and look into location based services.
