Found this unused routine while poking around in the BS-X BIOS Rom. Seems to be translated to English by the people who worked on the fan translation, which is a little baffling considering it is unused.
This measure works a lot like the L+R+X error checking function, but instead of checking the Satellaview base unit or signal, it would check the cartridge itself for abnormalities.
It only triggers on older emulators such as ZSNES on the guise that it could not find the Memory Pak slot while starting up. Running the ROM on modern emulators with the routine hacked back in yields nothing due to such emulators having Memory Pak support. Theoretically if you were to burn this rom onto something like a regular Super Famicom cart without a memory pak slot, this would be triggered given you hacked the rom to insert this routine.
This routine was probably scrapped because BS-X was useless without a memory pak anyway. However, they seemingly scrapped the entire abnormality check system, which would've been useful, if say, the save battery ran dry or the WRAM went bad.
The way the abnormality check works is that is that during the welcome-screen or other processes, it checks for the necessary components before letting you in. If something would go wrong, it would trigger this and tell you what was wrong.
Before you ask, yes, this is fake. This is all for that Anti-Piracy trend. Yes, I know there are already 2 BS-X Anti-Piracy videos, but I wanted to make one myself. (Plus there are like 5 clones of the Mario Party DS one anyways so this is fair game.)
