Joseph began his long years in prison. He quickly gained respect among the prisoners. Radomon wrote to the chief guard, suggesting that Joseph could benefit from his experience and help improve prison conditions. Joseph and the prisoners worked together to clean the prison. Zuleyha, however, was curious about Joseph's condition and hoped he would repent. The Amon Priests panicked after the assassination attempt failed and began searching for Apophis, who had disappeared.
Jacob, who lived in the city of Fedan, a city in Babylon, had long lived as a shepherd for his uncle (Laban), the governor of the city. The idolatrous people of Fedan offered sacrifices to Ishtar, Babylon's mother goddess, for rain. They attributed the lack of rain to Jacob's actions, attributing it to the gods' displeasure. Jacob, however, urged the people of Fedan to believe in one God and not associate partners with Him. However, despite their anger, the people of Fedan were unable to do anything to Jacob because they feared the governor, Laban. One day, as a way of intimidating Jacob, they sentenced one of the people of Fedan who disrespected the gods to death. However, just as he was about to be thrown into the fire, Jacob saved the man by paying the blood money. This act brought about the conversion of the prisoner and his wife to faith. Rachel, one of Jacob's four wives, became pregnant after many years. However, the child was never born. Jacob went to the date palm grove to pray to God. The magician of the temple of Ishtar performed a spell in the temple to destroy Lacob's child.
