One Man's $500K Gamble on a Film That Destroyed His Life
In late 2005 Tom Thompson decided to make a feature film called “Waste of Space”. He put up every penny he had in savings, refinanced his house, and took out a second mortgage to do it. Since shooting the movie in 2006, he has endured the failure of his company, serious health issues, and numerous other major obstacles in an effort to finish it. The grind and pressure to finish has left Tom as a man on the brink of destruction. A few months ago 3 filmmakers, Scott Reus, Stan Arthur, and Vince Rocca combined their efforts to shoot a documentary about Tom's journey into the abyss.
