Bali isn't just surfing, beaches, and traffic jams.
In the second part of my big film about Bali, I'll show you a different side of the island—the one most tourists never see.
We'll travel to East Bali, meet the Balinese, and try to understand their world: daily ceremonies, ancient traditions, holidays, spirits, and rituals that remain an important part of island life.
In this episode, you'll see:
— the active volcano Batur and its caldera
— sunrise over Bali's volcanoes
— hot springs and mountainous regions of the island
— hidden locations among rice fields
— a wild beach without crowds of tourists
— the best fish in East Bali
— Amed and Bali's underwater world
— snorkeling, diving, and freediving
— a sunken ship in Amed
I'll also try to set my personal best—diving to a depth equal to a 10-story building on a single breath.
You'll learn:
— the difference between freediving and scuba diving
— what happens to the body at depth
— why people voluntarily dive without tanks
— and why freedivers hold their breath for several minutes
This film is about the real Bali:
volcanoes, the underwater world, the east of the island, and people who live at a completely different pace.
If the first part was a journey through northern Bali, waterfalls, and dolphins, the second is a deeper dive.
Both literally and figuratively.
