Hello everyone, welcome to a brand-new pain in the ass benchmark on this channel. I got some gray hair while recording this one because of the system responding very slowly. So creating this video needed way more time than my previous benchmark compilations.
However, today's system is one that a lot of you guys called for.
And here it is: A Lenovo Thinkpad E 555 with an AMD A8 7100, 8GB of DDR3 dual-channel ram, and its integrated graphics Radeon R5.
To be fair the Thinkpad was not built to handle computer games. The AMD APU manages to run only a couple of today's games smoothly on the screen with a low resolution and a low to sometimes medium quality level. At least the games benefit from the dual-channel mode. In single-channel mode, the 3d performance would be way worse. If a second working memory module is added to the E555, the dual-channel mode is activated and the computer achieves higher frame rates in games.
If you are looking for a game-ready business notebook, you have to dig way deeper into your pocket.
But what is the E 555 good for? It's good enough to handle games older than 2012 or games that have low system requirements such as League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, or World of Tanks.
But for any more demanding game, even Valorant, I'd suggest buying at least a Ryzen or Intel system newer than 2015 instead.
In terms of retro gaming, the A8 7100 is also ok. Games like Left 4 Dead 2, Minecraft, or Euro Truck Simulator 2 have been playable pretty well.
So all in all I obviously can't recommend the A8 7100 for gaming in 2021. But for playing older titles or some modern games that aren't demanding it should be ok.
However, that's it. I hope you're going to enjoy watching this video. If you do leave a like and subscribe to this channel if you haven't done so already. Stay safe and have a great day. I hopefully see you all in the next one. Goodbye.
