How Does It Work? | IP69K-Rated Trackers | Teltonika
What is IP69K? It’s the highest ingress protection rating, meaning a device is completely dust-tight (6) and resistant to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets from all directions (9K). Teltonika FT platform trackers with this casing are built for the toughest environments and can withstand the harshest conditions.
First digit – Solid particle protection (0–6):
0 – No protection against contact or ingress
1 – Protected against solid objects larger than 50 mm (back of hand)
2 – Protected against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm (fingers)
3 – Protected against solid objects larger than 2.5 mm (tools, thick wires)
4 – Protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm (wires, screws, ants)
5 – Dust protected: limited ingress allowed, no harmful deposits
6 – Dust-tight: complete protection, vacuum tested for up to 8 hours
Second digit – Liquid ingress protection (0–9K):
0 – No protection against water
1 – Protected from vertically dripping water (10 minutes)
2 – Protected from dripping water at 15° tilt (10 minutes)
3 – Protected from sprayed water up to 60° from vertical
4 – Protected from splashing water from any direction
5 – Protected from water jets (6.3 mm nozzle, 12.5 l/min, 3 minutes)
6 – Protected from powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle, 100 l/min)
6K – Protected from high-pressure water jets (75 l/min at 100 bar)
7 – Protected against immersion up to 1 m for 30 minutes
8 – Protected against immersion beyond 1 m
9 – Protected against powerful high-temperature water jets
9K – Protection from high-temperature, high-pressure water jets
