Steps on how to give paint color splash effect to your photos in Photoshop :-
1. So the first step is to select the model in the image using Quick selection tool and if you have too many hair in the background the click on Refine edge and then hover over the edges using it which will get the selection proper.
2. Now after the selection click on Add layer mask icon to remove the background and only keep model.
3. After that click on Create new fill or adjustment layer icon and select Solid color over there and then set the color as white and then click on Ok and after that bring this color layer below model layer.
4. Now press CTRL + J to create a duplicate of the layer then hide the original layer and then right click on mask of the duplicate layer and then select Apply layer mask over there and then right click on the layer and select Convert to smart object over there.
5. Then click on Filter and then go to Stylize and select diffuse over there and then click on Anisotropic over there and then click on Okay after that we have to apply the same effect again so for that press CTRL + F and then click on Anisotropic and then click on Ok.
6. Now create a group by clicking on Create group icon and then bring that group below model layer and then create a new layer and drag that layer into group to add it inside group.
7. After that right click on the model layer and select Create clipping mask over there and then make the newly create layer active and then set the foreground color as White and then select brush tool and select any splash brush and then click on the document which will bring back the model in the form of the brush.
8. Now like this way keep changing the size of the brush , keep rotating it and keep changing the brush and create a nice effect by clicking on the document.
9. After the effect is done then make the top layer active and then click on Create new fill or adjustment layer icon and select Gradient over there and then set the following , Gradient : Violet ,Orange , Style : Radial , Scale : 200% and then click on Ok and then set the fill and the opacity of the layer as 10% & 50% respectively .
10. After that press CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + E to merge all the layers into single layer and then right click on the merged layer and select Convert to smart object over there and then go to Filter and select filter gallery over there and then expand the Texture folder and select Texturizer over there and then set the following , Scaling : 120% , Reilief : 5 and then click on Ok.
So this will give you your Paint color splash effect in Photoshop!
