July 2nd, Friday morning. We're closing in on the 4th of July weekend and we want to close the last 20 miles or so before getting to Aitkin where we will get to spend some time with family. We meet up with Anders' aunt, uncle, cousin and dog for a proper holiday break, put down the camera for a couple days and then get back to the river on Monday. We left some of our gear unattended most of the weekend, our canoes anchored into the river mud with a stick. Maybe not our smartest decision but everything was still there! God bless America. We hop back in and put in about another 17 miles paddling through brutally slow water where we end up deciding to camp on state land. Here's what happened...

HELP KEEP OUR WATERSHEDS CLEAN
Always clean up after yourself! If anybody missed a piece of trash by mistake... if you can... go ahead and pick that up too. Accidentally drop something? Pick up 2 or maybe 3 or 4 pieces of trash to make up for it. Pack it in... pack it out. Thanks guys, paddle on.
