How to Increase Internet Speeds on PS5 (Change DNS Servers)
In this video, I'll walk you through how to boost your internet speeds on your PS5 by adjusting a few important settings. If you've been experiencing slow download or upload speeds while gaming or downloading content, tweaking your network configuration can make a noticeable difference. We’ll start by heading into your PS5’s settings and navigating to the network section to begin customizing your connection setup.
Once you're in the network settings, I'll show you how to select your connected router and access the advanced settings. From there, we'll change your DNS settings from automatic to manual. You’ll learn how to input Google’s DNS servers, 8.8.8.8 for primary and 8.8.4.4 for secondary, which are known to improve speed and stability for many users. After saving these settings, you can test your connection directly on the PS5 to see if performance has improved.
In addition to Google DNS, I’ll also guide you through testing Cloudflare’s DNS, which uses 1.1.1.1 as the primary and 1.0.0.1 as the secondary address. Switching between these two options lets you find which one offers the best performance on your network.
