*NEW* Mysterious Ancient Structures Found
In 2002, archaeologists Joanne Clarke and Nick Brooks began fieldwork in the Western Sahara. Their research, combined with satellite imagery and drone surveys, revealed over a thousand ancient stone monuments scattered across the desert. These included corridors, rings, upright slabs, and one structure stretching approximately 630 meters in length.
Some formations were aligned in geometric patterns or spiraled into enclosed spaces, indicating deliberate construction and potential ceremonial or social functions. Radiocarbon dating suggests some of these structures are over 5,000 years old, dating back to a time when the Sahara was a green, habitable landscape.
This discovery raises important questions about prehistoric civilizations in North Africa and what other archaeological evidence might still lie buried beneath the sands of the Sahara.
