Prerequisites
VirtualBox: Download and install the latest version of VirtualBox from the official website.
Ubuntu 25.04 ISO: Download the Ubuntu 25.04 ISO file from the official Ubuntu website.
Step-by-Step Installation
Create a New Virtual Machine:
Open VirtualBox and click on "New" in the toolbar.
Enter a name for your virtual machine (e.g., "Ubuntu 25.04").
Select "Linux" as the type and "Ubuntu (64-bit)" as the version.
Click "Next."
Allocate RAM and CPU:
Allocate at least 2 GB of RAM (4 GB or more recommended).
Choose the number of processors (at least 2 recommended).
Click "Next."
Create a Virtual Hard Disk:
Select "Create a virtual hard disk now" and click "Create."
Choose "VDI" (VirtualBox Disk Image) as the hard disk file type.
Select "Dynamically allocated" and set the disk size (at least 20 GB recommended).
Click "Create."
Configure Virtual Machine Settings:
Go to the "Settings" section and select "Storage."
Click on the empty optical drive and select the Ubuntu 25.04 ISO file you downloaded.
Click "OK."
Start the Virtual Machine:
Select the virtual machine and click "Start" in the toolbar.
Follow the Ubuntu installation wizard to install the operating system.
Installation Wizard
Select Language and Keyboard Layout: Choose your preferred language and keyboard layout.
Update and Other Options: Choose whether to install updates and third-party software.
Installation Type: Select "Erase disk and install Ubuntu" or "Something else" depending on your needs.
User Account: Create a user account and set a password.
Wait for Installation: Wait for the installation process to complete.
Post-Installation
Restart the Virtual Machine: Restart the virtual machine after installation.
Login to Ubuntu: Login to your Ubuntu account.
Update and Configure: Update your system and configure any additional settings as needed.
That's it! You should now have Ubuntu 25.04 installed on VirtualBox.
Note
However, Ubuntu 25.04 doesn't exist yet. The latest version is Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Ubuntu 23.10. Make sure to check the official Ubuntu website for the latest releases.
