Onur Aksal (Halit Ergenç) is a man who distrusts women because he was cheated on a long time ago and because, when he was very young, his father abandoned him and his mother to be with another woman. He is also a man who loves to read, his favorite being the famous Arabic novel "One Thousand and One Nights." He is the owner of a large construction company, Binyapi, where Şerezade Evliyaoglu (Bergüzar Korel), a brilliant architect, works. She lost her husband, Ahmet Evliyaoglu, in an accident and was left alone with her five-year-old son, Kaan (Efe Çınar), who was diagnosed with leukemia. The time comes when Kaan's illness reaches a critical point, requiring an urgent bone marrow transplant. He goes to her father-in-law, Burhan Evliyaoglu (Metin Çekmez), to ask for the money he needs for the operation, but he refuses because he never agreed to her son, Ahmed (Atilla Türkmen), marrying her. He also holds her responsible for her death and has lived from that moment on in denial of his grandson. Since her father-in-law has refused, Scheherazade has no choice but to ask Binyapi for the money. Onur says he'll give it to her on the condition that she spend one night with him (he does this to test her, since, according to him, women are only interested in money).
