Nashville council meeting on The Nations rezoning turns into heated exchange
During a debate period regarding rezoning in Nashville's Nations neighborhood, council members interrupted each other, and things got so heated it stopped the meeting in its tracks Tuesday night.
Council member Jennifer Gamble took her turn in the discussion. While Gamble was talking, Parker walked over to Ellis and said something. Ellis claims it was derogatory. Ellis' shouts were not audible over the public feed, but here's Vice Mayor Henderson's part of the back-and-forth:
“Ms. Ellis, sit down and be quiet, please, ma’am. Hey, no, we are not doing this right now. I would like you to please sit down, ma’am. I am the judge and jury up here, ma’am as a matter of fact. Ms. Ellis, please sit down and be quiet.”
