Gospel Piano: The Blood (Will Never Lose Its Power)
I have always loved this song. I remember when it was new. :-) This is old school southern gospel, although what gospel I play is now more jazz informed than way back when. What struck me in playing this is how gospel has changed due to technology. Back in the day, I played in many churches with an acoustic piano with no amplification. The trick was to achieve volume! That kind of power playing is very different from the fingery playing of today. -- There is no need to play loud when the digital keyboards do it for you. I prefer the way it is today -- way more advantages than back in the day, but it's an interesting change over time.
