Who are we?
Hello! My name is Joy Susano, I am the founder and instructor of Taller Ikarus. Our company is called Grupo Ikarus eirl. We are a family business that designs, produces, and markets the brands Ikarus, Patria, and No+Tv. We also share our knowledge through Screen Printing Courses at Taller Ikarus. We are located in Lima, Peru.
As soon as I finished school in 1990, I studied graphic design and gained experience in pre-press, print, and advertising agencies. In 1997, I discovered the textile industry through design and then learned the entire product development process in knitwear and woven fabrics. This helped me, with great effort, achieve the goal of managing the design and development departments of important export companies in the country.
In 2007, my wife, Yessica Berru, and I decided to start a textile screen printing workshop. This decision was very difficult at the time, as it meant starting from scratch with almost no capital, with the sole goal of establishing our own business and building a future for our family.
This is how Taller Ikarus was born, providing textile printing services to designers and companies. In 2011, we decided to offer screen printing courses, and that same year, we launched our own polo brand: Ikarus, high-quality polos with distinctive designs.
In 2016, we created Patria, with which we revalue our national symbols as part of our historical identity.
Both brands are currently positioned in their target market.
Currently, and due to the current situation, we are adapting and diversifying, striving daily to move forward.
