Stylophora Coral Crochet (master class by Svetlana Kononenko)
I'm continuing my video series "Knitted Aquarium."
Today I'll show you how to crochet milky coral (scientific name: Stylophora milki). Stylophora milki is a cluster of fairly thick, sparsely branched coral branches. Large clusters take on a spherical shape.
In this video, I'll explain in great detail how to join coral branches during crocheting so that no visible holes form between the branches and at the joints. We'll also hide the edges of completed rows.
YOU WILL NEED:
• 1.75 mm crochet hook.
• 100% acrylic yarn, approximately 200 m per 100 g; I used coral.
• Scissors.
• Felt, preferably in a color that matches the yarn.
• Thick cardboard.
• Pencil.
• Pins.
• Thin needle. • Synthetic batting.
• Stuffing stick.
• Thin threads to match the yarn.
• Wire for the frame – copper, 2 mm in diameter (optional).
• Round-nose pliers for working with wire.
THE FOLLOWING ABBREVIATIONS ARE USED IN THE RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE SUBTITLES WITH DESCRIPTION:
• chain stitches (ch)
• amigurumi ring (AR)
• slip stitches (ss)
• single crochets (sc)
• decreases (dec)
• front loop (FL)
