I made this inspired in some Zalex fanfics I read in ao3 which shows Zach's POV in how Zalex developed in s04, which is, basically Zach letting Alex go because he felt he ruined his chance and felt it was too late to do some move because of Charlie, but still can't stop thinking about him since the kiss on the rooftop.
Alex for his part, he followed Zach's advice of being ok with not being happy ... even if he fooled himself saying he's in love with Charlie.
I'm not tired of saying Charlie was forced in Alex life and he was kind of a replacement of Zach, and you know it.
Sorry my dear Charlie, but you're just a lookalike.
