In today's video, I'm going to teach you how to zoom in on a timeline in DaVinci Resolve using a quick keyboard shortcut. This helps you make more precise edits, especially when working with shorter clips or detailed cuts. Let's get started.

Step 1. Move your mouse pointer over the timeline area. The zoom shortcut only works when your cursor is positioned over the timeline panel.

Step 2. Hold the Alt key on your keyboard.

Step 3. While holding Alt, scroll up with your mouse wheel. The timeline will zoom in, giving you a closer view of your clips, audio waveforms, and edit points.

Step 4. To zoom back out, hold Alt and scroll down with your mouse wheel.

Step 5. If the zoom does not work, double-check that your mouse pointer is actually hovering over the timeline and not another panel in the interface.

A helpful tip: Use this shortcut whenever you are doing detailed trimming or frame-accurate adjustments. The more zoomed in you are, the easier it becomes to see exactly where your cuts begin and end.

That's all there is to it. Hold Alt and scroll up to zoom in, scroll down to zoom out. This simple shortcut makes editing in DaVinci Resolve much smoother and more precise. Thanks for watching.
