Spatial Index: New Qlik Cloud Feature Explained (Full Walkthrough)
The map object in Qlik Cloud just got an update.
In this video, I'll explain what the new Spatial Index feature is, how it compares to the current methods, and how to set it up.
Spatial Index is a new option in the GeoOperations connector that will generate an index table for a given location field. This index table associates each location with cells in a grid (not one that you see -- it's just for the map object). This enables another new feature in Qlik Cloud: the Qlik map object can now select visible points!
Now, instead of zooming into a map and then manually selecting the visible points, you can now simply zoom in and Qlik will automatically select the points that are visible when you stop zooming.
