Scuderia Ferrari HP has officially pulled the covers off the SF-26 at the Fiorano Circuit today, January 23, 2026. This is the 72nd F1 car built by Maranello and the first designed from the ground up for the radical 2026 technical regulations.
Key Highlights from the Ferrari SF-26 Launch:
The Return of Gloss: After seven seasons of matte finishes, Ferrari has returned to a vibrant gloss paint. The "Rosso Scuderia" is brighter and more intense, accented by a significant increase in white—a retro nod to the iconic 1970s Niki Lauda era.
Technical Shift: The SF-26 moves to a pushrod suspension setup both front and rear. It features the all-new 2026 power unit, which ditches the MGU-H and nearly triples the electrical output of the MGU-K to 350kW.
Active Aero: The launch video and shakedown confirmed the SF-26’s active aerodynamic systems, with movable front and rear wing flaps designed to balance high downforce with low-drag "X-mode" for straights.
The Driver Pairing: Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were both on hand to debut the car. Hamilton noted that this is the "biggest regulation change" of his career, while Leclerc highlighted his heavy involvement in the SF-26's early development.
Fiorano Shakedown: Immediately following the 84-second reveal video, both drivers took the car for its first official laps at Fiorano to validate systems ahead of next week’s private test in Barcelona.
