My wife bought a Mini in the middle of July. Or rather a Mini Cooper S Cabrio (2006-R52 with 183,000 km) with a W11 (W11B16A) Engine.
I picked up the car for her (see: • Das neue Auto meiner Frau - Abholen in Vöc... ) and problems arose on the drive home.
Even before driving off, I noticed that the air conditioning wasn't working. And on the drive up the mountain, over the Arlberg Pass, the coolant started to boil and I had to stop (see • Motorschaden am Mini Cooper S Cabrio!!! #m... ).
This short is now a short part of the series on how I repair the car. And how I have to do more and more to finally find the fault... !!! SPOILER WARNING!!! It's the head gasket!
And then, of course, I put it back together again and get it in top condition, at least the technology - design is then my wife's job.
After replacing the thermostat and the water pump, and the problem wasn't solved, it's time for more disassembly.
