Florin is the home to all shais, and as such the Shai will experience friendlier dialogue when talking to people from her hometown. Some will reminisce about when she was a baby, others will moan and complain about some of the tricks she has pulled in the past. But all of them have a close relationship to Shai. She will also have slightly altered quests in Florin.
Shais are naturally gifted in the art of Alchemy and Gathering, and as such will start with these life skills at level Professional 1. As Shai starts at Professional 1 in these life skills, she will be unable to complete certain life skills including the alchemy and gathering quests of Florin. She is also a free spirit and has learned how to combine her alchemy with basic survival skills to create a Bonfire Tool.
The Bonfire tool uses simple alchemy to create a small bonfire which will heal nearby allies for 50 HP per 10 seconds, and completely cure hypothermia in the desert. Bonfires burn for 10 minutes, and cannot be recreated for another 30 minutes. To get the fire going, you will need the following materials: 5 timber (of any type including logs), 5 Rough Stones and 5 Powder of Flame.
Since Shai grew up under the watchful eye of Valentine, she has developed quite a bond with donkeys. She prefers handling donkeys since they are easier for her to ride, and are much more likely to listen to her than regular sized horses. Due to her small frame, she is also able to reach speeds which many thought donkeys were incapable of.
Having a small frame helps when trying to gallop valiantly on a donkey, but it means that small cats and birds are not able to perch on her shoulders. Some pets in the future may find themselves also unable to perform certain actions with Shai.
Florin is generally a quiet and peaceful town, so Shai never really learned how to hit other people with much force, and only killing the occasional fox or bird means she never honed her combat skills like most other characters. What she lacks in damage, she makes up with her abilities, being able to heal and buff her allies and place certain debuffs on her enemies.
