10 years ago, the war began in South Ossetia. Then a new generation of descendants of the Alants rose up to defend their Motherland. And not for nothing, each of them remembered the events of the 90s, the courage of their elders was an example for them. And although the strength was not equal, not a single one of them lost his life for the sake of victory. They stood against the enemy. Our next article about those who showed themselves brave in that short bloody war.
According to the tradition established for 10 years, the events began at the Museum of Burnt Souls. 10 years ago, residents of Tskhinvali fled their happy homes on this road with only one goal - to protect their children, relatives and their own lives. But the enemy's cruel bullets did not hit anyone. Many people died in their vehicles.
On the night of August 8, memorial events were held at the St. George's Cathedral. Here in August 2008 the famous conductor Valery Gergity gave a concert, thus finding the bright names of those who died in this war. Therefore, this place became important for both republics. Remembering these difficult days, people stand by each other.
Lots of pictures and candles, burning tears and memories. I remember that night. A photo exhibition was also held. This is how the correspondents of the Russian newspaper portrayed South Ossetia then and today. Then they were in South Ossetia, they came to the side of the parents of the soldiers who died here. Today, words of thanks were heard on their behalf.
For 5 days of the war, the symbol of heroism became the group of Amiran Bagat. Unfortunately, now Major Bagaty Amiran and Captain Dzhioty Azemet are no longer with our citizens. Monuments were erected to them in Tskhinvali. Now their names will live forever in the hearts of the people of Irystan. Their heroism will not be forgotten, 10 years ago the major gave the command to fight the enemy in the last drop of blood. Nine boys stood by him to defeat the enemy. They understood that they would not defeat the enemy, but none of them turned back. That day, the Ministry of Defense lost its best officers.
They laid flowers at the place where the heroes of South Ossetia showed their heroism. They listened to the anthems of Russia and South Ossetia. The guard of honor started firing again.
As usual, on August 8, they visited the places where the defenders of South Ossetia were killed. A monument to 18-year-old Lev Kozaty and a little less to the soldier Tamaz Plity were erected on Heroes Street. On August 9, the employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladislav Gazzaty was killed near the television. So is every street in Tskhinvali. Everywhere you look there are witnesses to the heroism of the sons of Russia. It's been 10 years, it's raining. Maybe the earth is shedding burning tears with us for those who died in 2008.
