Irtyshov began stalking young boys and, seizing the right moment, raped them, as police reports describe, "in a perverted manner." Between December 1993 and September 1994, Irtyshov committed eight attacks on boys aged 9 to 15 in the elevators and entryways of apartment buildings in the Primorsky and Vyborgsky districts of St. Petersburg, with the intent of sexually assaulting them. Some of the attacks resulted in disability and death. The maniac's first attack on children (from what is known to investigators and investigators) occurred in December 1993. While walking in Sosnovsky Park during the day, he spotted the ten- and eleven-year-old brothers, Kolya and Seryozha D.
