How to Setup Phone Call Conversion Tracking in Google Ads | Google ads call tracking setup 2023
To set up phone call conversion tracking in Google Ads using your website, follow these steps
Sign in to your Google Ads account at ads.google.com.
Click on the "Tools & Settings" icon (spanner/wrench icon) in the upper right corner, and select "Conversions" from the dropdown menu.
In the Conversions dashboard, click on the plus button (+) to create a new conversion action.
Choose the "Phone calls" option under the "Other" category and click "Continue."
Select the source of the phone call conversion. If you want to track calls from your website, choose "Calls from a website" and click "Continue."
Enter the conversion name and value (if applicable). You can choose to assign a value for each phone call if it has a monetary worth to your business. Click "Continue" once you've entered the details.
Customize the settings based on your requirements. You can set a conversion window, count, and attribution model. Adjust the settings according to your business needs and click "Create and continue."
On the next page, you'll see the conversion tag code. Click on the "Install the tag yourself" option.
Copy the conversion tag code provided by Google Ads.
Open your website's HTML code in an editor or CMS.
Paste the conversion tag code just before the closing head tag of the web page(s) you want to track phone call conversions on.
Save the changes to your website's HTML and publish the updated pages.
After the tag is successfully implemented, go back to the Google Ads conversion setup process and click on "Done" to complete the setup.
Once the conversion tracking is set up, Google Ads will start tracking phone call conversions from your website. You can then use this data to optimize your campaigns and measure the effectiveness of your advertising efforts.
