How does feedback work in a low trust low respect environment?
Well it's certainly more challenging than when you have BOTH of those things! But this isn't totally unusual, especially when in a new team.
It doesn't mean that feedback should stop. We only get better with feedback.
We need to be cognizant of defensiveness and ensuring we can deliver the valuable message of feedback to the receiver. Try to avoid coming across like you're purely criticizing them and instead find ways to break the ice, perhaps by complimenting something else working really well.
