Hooshang Amirahmadi is a prominent Iranian‑American scholar of Talysh origin, known for his work on Iran, development, and U.S.–Iran relations.

He is a professor at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University in the United States and has served as director of its Center for Middle Eastern Studies.

He holds a PhD in planning and international development from Cornell University and is recognized as a Distinguished Service Professor at Rutgers.

Amirahmadi is the founder and president of the American Iranian Council, an organization dedicated to improving dialogue and understanding between Iran and the United States.
