No One Can Hold Us - March 2022 ǀ English National Opera
In March 2022, 50 young ESOL (english speakers of other languages) came together from 3 New City College campuses to learn English through writing and performing their own piece of opera.
Inspired by a new commission by Jessie Maryon Davies and lead by composer Aga Serugolugo and writer Hazel Gould they wrote a whole show exploring what would happen if someone stood up to an authority. One student said the project ‘gave them the confidence to be myself’.
