What is Linux Lite?

Linux Lite OS 5.4 was released in April 2021. Linux Lite OS is a Linux distro derived from Ubuntu LTS, so its stability is undeniable. Linux Lite 5.4 uses Ubuntu 20.04 LTS as its base code. As the name suggests, Linux Lite targets computers with minimal specifications. With just a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, you can use Linux Lite to work comfortably. One effort is to use XFCE as the desktop environment. XFCE itself is known as a low-resource desktop environment and is very suitable for use on computers with minimal specifications. Linux Lite specifically targets users who want to migrate from Windows operating systems, especially Windows, to Linux. The Linux Lite development team has made this effort by providing a look and feel that closely resembles Windows. Major releases of Linux Lite are released every two years, using the latest Ubuntu LTS as its codebase. With each major release, Linux Lite will increase its version number and receive a new code name. For example, Linux Lite 5.4 indicates the fifth major release with the fourth minor update. The first letter of the code name follows alphabetical order; for example, version 5 uses the code name Emerald. Regarding software support, because Linux Lite is derived from Ubuntu LTS, its software support is quite extensive.
