What is Object Oriented UX? How can it improve our UX audit process?
Another thing we want to take a look at is leveraging object oriented UX. One of the biggest things we, unfortunately, do as product teams and and designers is we build things screen by screen. It's going to remove us from thinking about the objects and how they function or are displayed across different areas of our product. This is an example from Eventbrite.
You can see how this card and page header has some of the same information, but it displays it differently and remixes it. Potentially causes continuity issues. When somebody clicks on something from the home page where that smaller card is, and then they get the larger page, and they're like, Oh, hey, where where's the date? It was called out at the top.
It was bright and red. Now it's not here anymore. If you want to dive deeper into object-oriented UX, Sophia Prater has got a ton of great stuff on it, so definitely check that out. But this is something that we can incorporate in our UX audits as well.
