Exposure Tools for Video
The LUMIX S1H comes equipped with a number of professional tools designed to help you check your image exposure. Understanding the exposure is vital for balancing lighting and maintaining good colour. LUMIX Ambassador Jacob James Exposure introduces you to the S1H’s tools, which give you a reference that is standardised regardless of the environmental conditions you are shooting in.
You will learn about zebras, which allow you to identify areas of the image, that are either under- or overexposed, and how to set them. The next tool, which Jacob explains is the wave form monitor to keep your overall exposure in sight and controlled while rolling. For convenience, it can be scaled and moved across the display. Finally, there is a useful tool on board S1H, which is called Luminance Spot Meter. It allows you to see the luminance value of any area of the image in order for you to easily adjust your exposure settings to monitor the consistent values in different lighting situations or set the exposure value quickly with a reference, such as a grey card.
