🟪 PLANE FIGURES: AREA OF A RECTANGLE | 9TH GRADE
✔ Hello everyone!
Today's video begins a series of videos about the area of plane figures, starting with the rectangle. The area of a rectangle is equal to the product of the base and the height.
We indicate: area = A, base = b, height = h. We have A = b x h. The base and height must have measurements in the same unit. If this unit is the centimeter, the area will be given in square centimeters; if the unit is the meter, the area will be given in square meters, etc. We will also do 2 exercises on the subject.
1) The management of the College of Knowledge wants to replace the grass of a soccer field that measures 66 m with 100 m. What will be the area of grass needed?
2) Calculate the area of the colored surface in each of the cases.
a) EFGH is a rectangle.
b) IJKL is a rectangle.
