DON'T USE LINKEDIN AS A JOB BOARD by Felipe Lodi
Most professionals using LinkedIn got it all wrong. When they think about LinkedIn, they think about jobs or recruiters chasing candidates. Those who have stable jobs and feel this way, don't even visit LinkedIn, not even to show their key achievements where they work now. It takes them to become redundant in their jobs for them to run to some LinkedIn coach to rebuild their profile so that they can get their next comfy job. Then they won't remember who is their network who can help them because they didn't use Social Media to log it.
LinkedIn is not a job board but a place where you can sow those opportunities seeds I mentioned before. The network was designed for you to create content and log your professional life. You must frequently write, like people's posts, put your opinion out there when your thought comes to mind, don't overthink, just post, three, four, five times a day, about your day.
And when you see something that makes you remind of someone, tag them, show people that you are acquainted, have an active and vivid network of changemakers. When you wish to participate in a programme, a course, an initiative, tag the decision-maker on the very post that caught your attention, be ahead of the majority of professionals taking mediocre actions towards opportunities. Be remarkable and let them know you.
You will see with time that people will understand you and learn what you sell. Because if you are looking for a new job, you are also selling something and the very complex network of things that you have shown interest online will identify your unique persona. And there will be a lot of people willing to buy the product "You."
