Delphi Programming Tutorial - Lesson 5: The Integrated Development Environment (IDE):

An integrated development environment (IDE) is a software application that provides detailed facilities to programmers for software development. An IDE normally has a code editor, compiler and a debugging tools. Most modern IDEs, like Delphi, have features for intelligent code completion.

Sometimes a version control system, or various tools to simplify the construction of a Graphical User Interface (GUI), are integrated. Many modern IDEs, such as Delphi, also have facilities to browse classes and explore objects in a hierarchical manner, for object-oriented programming.

In this tutorial we explore the tools and features found in Delphi's Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
