Need for Speed: Underground 2 was developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts in May 2004. It follows Underground and is part of the Need for Speed series. It was released for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, and PC. It is the sequel to Underground.

Since 1998, the company that has produced the most played car racing games broke its own sales records once again with Need for Speed: Underground, released in 2003.

In Need for Speed: Underground, players could purchase more powerful performance parts and more attractive exterior parts for their purchased cars. The game also allowed users to customize visible and invisible parts with various logos, colors, and decals. With these modifications, you could participate in illegal street races with your car, reflecting the modified spirit of illegal racing. Furthermore, winning these races allowed you to unlock more parts.

Need for Speed: Underground 2, the sequel to the game that embodies the "mine" and "my creation" feeling that NFS gives the player, has now arrived on the market. Unlike the first game, the game allows you to freely roam the entire city (as you unlock new areas), but this time, you have to visit the locations where races are held.

The game doesn't limit users to pre-configured races while navigating the city. Besides, modified vehicles are also available. These races, which we play with these opponents based on the principle of "the one who gets ahead and opens the gap wins," can earn us money and special parts, just like other races we know.

Need For Speed: Underground 2 features two other race types in addition to the first one: URL and Street X. URL involves a few laps on F1-style tracks, while Street X is mostly square-shaped, with three opponents trying to reach the finish line first.

With a city comparable in size to Grand Theft Auto, two new race modes, and a total of 70 billion different combinations of tracks, Need For Speed: Underground 2 is much more advanced than the first. The game was released as a PAL/NTSC version. The differences between the two are the cars. The NTSC version features the Honda Civic and Acura RSX. The PAL version features the Opel Corsa C 2004 and the Peugeot 106. Neither version features the other's cars.
