We get it. Starting a car company is difficult and getting people interested in your cars can be tough when there are models available from established brands. So, what do you do? Well, if you're one of a handful of car companies in China, you simply copy the designs of desirable European cars, like the Lamborghini Urus and Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and sell them on for a quarter of the price.
Yes, we're talking about Chinese copycats and with the Beijing Motor Show just around the corner, an event that usually throws up a clone or too, we thought we'd look at the best, worst car copies of all time.
No manufacturer is safe. The Range Rover Evoque? Clones. Honda E? Copied. Porsche Macan? Downright ripped-off.
But let's not forget the Chinese car industry is also a complete powerhouse. We wouldn't have the Tesla Model 3-rivalling Polestar 2 if it weren't for parent company Geely. And then there are the new brands like Nio, which makes some seriously cool SUVs and the crazy EP9 electric hypercar.
