ALCOHOL in LIQUID NITROGEN. What will happen if you pour liquid nitrogen into pure alcohol (ethyl alcohol)? Cooling alcohol with liquid nitrogen differs about freezing with liquid nitrogen, for example, water. The reaction is more violent. ALCOHOL in LIQUID NITROGEN is also thawed quite interestingly. Alcohol after liquid nitrogen is thawed longer than water. In this case, a stage is observed when alcohol (after interaction with liquid nitrogen) looks viscous like honey.

Liquid nitrogen is nitrogen in a liquid state at an extremely low temperature. It is a colorless transparent liquid with a density of 0.807 g / ml at its boiling point (-195.79 ° C (77 K, -320 ° F)) and a dielectric constant of 1.43.

Liquid nitrogen is a cryogenic liquid that can cause rapid freezing when in contact with a living tissue. With proper isolation from the surrounding temperature, liquid nitrogen can be stored and transported, for example, in vacuum flasks. The temperature is kept constant at 77 K with slow boiling of the liquid, which leads to the evolution of gaseous nitrogen.

The temperature of liquid nitrogen can be easily reduced to the freezing point of 63 K (-210 ° C, -346 ° F) by placing it in a vacuum chamber pumped by a vacuum pump. The efficiency of liquid nitrogen as a refrigerant is limited by the fact that it immediately boils on contact with a warmer object enveloping the object in an insulating gaseous nitrogen. This effect, known as the Leidenfrot effect, is applied to any liquid in contact with the object, much hotter than its boiling point. A faster cooling can be obtained by immersing the object in a bunch of liquid and solid nitrogen, and not just liquid nitrogen.
