How to Set Up Session Duration in Google Analytics Universal 🧐
Measure user engagement by treating minimum session duration as a conversion.
1. Click Admin, and navigate to the third column View.
2. In the VIEW column, click Goals.
3. Click +NEW GOAL
4. Select Custom from the list of options.
5. Click Next step, then give it a name and select a goal Type - Duration
6. Click Next step again to continue setting up your goal.
7. Specify the minimum session time in the Hours, Minutes and Seconds fields that qualifies as a goal conversion. Any session longer than this amount of time will generate a conversion.
8. Click Save

1 Click Admin, and navigate to the third column View.
2. In the VIEW column, click Goals.
3. Click + NEW GOAL
4. Select Custom from the list of options.
5. Click Next step, then give it a name and select a goal Type - Pages/screens per session
6. Click Next step again to continue setting up your goal.
7. Specify the minimum amount of pages or screens per session as a goal. Users who view more than the specified number of pages or screens will generate a conversion.
8. Click Save
