You want to install Windows on your laptop but it won't let you. You want to boot from a USB or DVD. Disable the Secure Boot feature in your BIOS/UEFI to access the initial boot from an external or internal device (you select the boot device). This also solves the boot errors "You need to load the kernel first" and "Image failed to verify with SECURITY VIOLATION".
This video shows how to boot from a USB or external drive, for example, boot from a DVD/CD (optical drive) or boot from an external drive (via USB). Error description: Image failed to verify with SECURITY VIOLATION. Press any key to continue.
You need to load the kernel first.
➤ Hotkey help for settings (accessing BIOS/BOOT only for LENOVO):
✅ Press "F2" to access the BIOS (Lenovo setup menu)
✅ Press "F12" for the "BOOT" boot selector (select primary device)
