Group D
England (Sonja Devenney) vs Croatia ( Jane Petrie)
1:0 As an Englishman I am happy with this result though I didn't find the game all that exciting still the last time we played Croatia in the last world cup we lost so this was a good result and also the first time England won their opening game at the Euros.
Reading result Jane Petrie must find something to read from England which shouldn't be too difficult. :)
Group C
Austria (Aaron Facer / @aaronfacer ) vs North Macedonia (Barter Hordes / rsheard )
3:1 I do not think the score is a fair reflection of this match as for a long while it was 1:1, Austria really should have done better against these plucky underdogs but then I suppose at the end of the day a win is a win, anyway well done north Macedonia for showing spirit and determination and not giving Austria an easy run out.
Reading result Barter Hordes is going to read something Austrian and happily football related, I am sure he will mention it sometime on his channel. Aaron Facer gets to put his feet up at least until the next match.
Netherlands (Cozy Reading with Quaker Cats / @readingwithquakercats ) vs Ukraine (Katja Read, Write, Create / @pageturnerswithkatja )
3:2 Although scrappy at times there was a lot of end to end action in the first half and in the second this was transformed into goals, the Dutch went 2:0 up but Ukraine came back to level at 2:2 only for the Dutch to take it just five minutes from the end. Still it was a great game.
Reading result Cozy Reading with Quaker Cats can enjoy the feeling of victory for a couple of days while Katja Read, Write and Create needs to look to her bookshelves and find something to carry her off to Nether Netherlands
