How to redirect a root (apex) domain to another domain with Route53 | AWS Quick tips #1
When you need to redirect the root (or apex) domain to another domain with Route53 then you don't have too many options. You can't directly use the A record because it only allows using IP addresses or aliases to AWS resources. The CNAME only allows subdomains.
But you can use a neat little trick that allows you to use an A record with an Alias to redirect to another domain, even if that domain is outside of your AWS infrastructure. Check out the video to see how to do it.
