"VIRGIN MARIA" reflects the consequences of glorification mentioned in the INTRO. "This song is about the contrast between the divine and the human parts of ourselves from the viewpoint of a girl who has always been compared to someone else. It continues the song "Teresa & Maria", which explores the duality of our divine and human parts. I believe that a person is truly an extension of God, but expecting a woman to be saintly is an idealization with consequences," says Jerry Heil. The main message of the track is a protest against the pressure of standards. "Be modest, but not too unapproachable," "act like a lady" — the first verse lists the stereotypes imposed on modern women, while the second affirms the idea of fighting for the right to be oneself.
"The album 'MARIA' is my reflection as a believer, a musician, and a woman living in a country forced to fight against an aggressor. It includes prayers, despair, faith, and the struggle against stereotypical notions of what a modern woman is. The album addresses the image of the Virgin Mary, a woman who is idealized and canonized. But the consequence of such glorification is superhuman expectations. So who is the modern woman, the modern Maria, living in Ukraine?" Jerry Heil said.
