In this #video we will look at a fully working model.
Belgian rifle caliber 7.62x51 NATO #FN #FAL.
FN FAL (fr.Fusil Automatique Leger - light automatic rifle
(although it can be called light with a stretch - it weighs almost 4.5 kg)) - NATO firearms, manufactured in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale de Herstal.
One of the most recognized and widely used automatic rifles in the world. The FN FAL was originally developed for the 7.92x33 mm intermediate cartridge used by the Germans during World War II, then prototypes for the .280 British cartridge appeared. It was later redesigned for the 7.62x51 mm NATO cartridge, adopted as a single cartridge for the countries of the military bloc.
During the Cold War, she received the nickname "the right hand of the free world."
There was either a semi-automatic version of the FAL with only single fire, or only a fully automatic version as a light machine gun!
However, in automatic mode, its recoil was so powerful,
that the barrel literally went into the sky!
It is in service with a couple of dozen countries around the world!
Manufactured under license in 13 countries!
In some countries, the FAL rifle can be found simultaneously with the AK and M-16!
There are a lot of FAL modifications for different calibers and barrel lengths. Here are just a few of them: Austrian Steyr Stg. 58, British L1A1, Brazilian IMBEL LAR, Canadian C1 and so on.
