Trying to grow a 2000lb Giant Pumpkin - week-by-week series

PART 8
What I learned making this video:
Don't mow too close to wind fence
Azomite is really dusty and difficult to spread
The weeds came back quickly - I mowed again.
I amended my patch with some extra Urea (0-0-46) to put some extra readily-available Nitrogen in the soil. I also added Azomite for the first time. I normally add things like Azomite earlier in the season before the plants are in the ground, but I found it in the store for the first time recently and decided to add it now. It should add some extra micronutrients for the plants - similar to how Kelp Meal does.
The patch then got a final till with my Kubota BX tractor to incorporate all the amendments and turn all the leftover weeds under.
I don't know what will be in the next video - maybe some drench fertilization and insect treatments (the cucumber beetles just arrived).
ABOUT
I grow my pumpkins in New England, and I'm trying to beat my personal best Giant Pumpkin of 1832.5lbs. I don't talk in the videos as I'm going for an ASMR quality. Just watch me work and listen to the sounds of the pumpkin patch. Happy to answer any questions in the comments. Subscribe for weekly updates to my 2021 season.
