Student Showcase: WINTER IS HERE (Scarlett, age 9)
Here's a really fun storytelling song that Scarlett had so many great ideas for. We wrote it so that you can hear the happy winter morning mood, feel the whoosh of sledding down the hill, and the slow stomping all the way to the top... maybe even a crash into some hopefully soft evergreens, then back inside for some cozy hot chocolate.

I've been playing and creating music for over 26 years, and am so delighted to be running a music studio full of creative and motivated students. I specialize in teaching songwriting and music creation for students ages 6 and up, along with skills that are particularly practical in today's music industry such as music production and recording, playing by ear, and playing guitar and piano in a pop music style like you hear on the radio. I've also studied classical music with the Royal Conservatory of Music for 25 years, placing in the top 2% in Canada for the advanced levels [Level 8 and up], and my students also consistently pass the RCM exams with First Class Honours and First Class Honours with Distinction. My teaching philosophy is to create well-rounded musicians with real skills that are relevant in today's music world, who can play by ear, improvise, read sheet music with accuracy and comfort, and most importantly, express themselves creatively through writing, playing, and sometimes even singing songs they have written themselves.
