Welcome to the brand-new OTTOBRE family magazine! The idea for it was inspired by you, dear readers. You threw quite a challenge at us, with one of your most popular requests being for men’s clothes. Even though making patterns for men was new to us and we at first felt somewhat nervous about it, it turned out to be an incredibly interesting and rewarding experience. We recruited four charming men of different ages and sizes to display clothes for this magazine, and thus the patterns, the grading of patterns and the various techniques used on men’s clothing could be tested on live models.
The ladies in our editorial office already rave about soft gifts for the important men in their lives. While one lady is going to start “serial production” of underwear, another intends to make comfortable T-shirts for her guy, who loves the great outdoors. We especially recommend that you try out our shirt pattern! It has a trendy cut and the sizes go up to size 60. It’s suitable for making shirts for both leisure wear and smart office wear.
When teenagers reach the upper end of the sizes featured in the OTTOBRE kids magazine, it may be difficult to find the right pattern size for them. Since they as a rule fall in between the children’s and adults’ sizes, we included them in this new magazine. We added size 32 for slim, tall girls to the women’s size chart and size 46 for teenage boys to the men’s size chart. We also designed a few basic items especially for teenagers. We believe that small adults will also be delighted by our extended size charts.
We managed to fit in a much-requested pattern for a kimono-sleeve bathrobe in a wide range of sizes for both teenagers and adults. It is a unisex design that can be made in two different versions: one with a hood and the other with a collar. There also seems to be a high demand for a collection for plus-size women, and in fact we’ve been working on it for a while. For a start, you’ll find in this magazine a pattern for a versatile knit dress, which we made in two different versions.
