Lucifron - Healing Mage PoV - Season of Discovery Molten Core Phase 4 WoW Classic - Heat 1
Hello everyone! This video is a non-narrated recording of the Lucifron encounter from the Molten Core Raid done on Heat level 1 as a Healing Arcane Mage in Phase 4 of the World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery.
This was our guild's first night of MC, and I have not personally ever done these bosses while they were current in Vanilla, Classic, or any of the Classic Seasons. I definitely don't play the best here as I am seeing these fights for the very first time and still trying to learn the damage pattern and see the mechanics firsthand. That being said, I thought that I would upload the vod in case people wanted to see this fight from a Healing Mage's point of view.
This fight can be a little tricky because of the mind-controls, but all in all isn't too bad. As a ranged player / healer as long as you are standing at least 20 yards away from the Protector adds then you will not be MCed, so it's just a matter of making sure not to accidentally cleave the melee DPS / Tanks down while they are MCed. Beyond that, dispelling the curse that makes your spells take 100% more mana/rage/energy is very helpful, but I personally believe that as a healer you should focus primarily on healing and let the DPS Mages / Druids do the dispels, prioritizing dispelling the Healers first. I still tried to help out with Dispels when I could though. This fight actually had a decent amount of damage going out, and I definitely botched my rotation quite a bit and could have done a lot more healing overall. That being said, I think that it was still a pretty fun first fight.
